Do Havanese Like Children? A Video

You betcha!!!

It is alsmost as if a child is another puppy, these Havanese are so smitten. And gentle.

Now, as young puppies…under one year…like all puppies, Havanese are exuberant. And in this state, their sharp little teeth might find the wrong “toy.” For that reason always, always supervise your puppy/toddler play. Once a puppy reaches a year, it will be different…for the puppy that is. Still, toddlers can also display inappropriate play (pulling an ear or a tail or a fistful of fur) and must be supervised until 5 years old or so.

And…A Video of Lily’s Pups at 2 weeks old!

Such beautiful puppies! Can’t wait to get them out and about. At Two weeks old these puppies are just beginning to explore their world beyond their mother. They are aware of other puppies in the whelping box. They make wonderful little sounds. Since they are still in my bedroom, these are sounds I go to sleep with each night. It is heavenly!

Will work in individual photos in a few days.

Video of Maxi’s Pups at Two Weeks Old!

This is when the fun begins! Puppies are 2 weeks old now, making sometimes sweet coos, sometimes puppy challenge growls and wobbling around on their little legs. Noses are black now as are some of the pads on their feet. Soon their eyes will open and a few days after that the fog will clear and they will be able to see their siblings and their Mama…and me!…for the first time.

I took this video of Maxi’s litter yesterday.

Hoping to catch a video of Lily’s pups later today. Stay tuned!

No surprises here. Lily is lily white.  T.A.D. is creamy cream. Puppies are white and cream!

And here are their five beautiful puppies at one week old!

Puppy girl #1 has the most color of any…a light tan.

Sometimes Things Just Don’t Work Out

I’m sorry to say that I have two very sad families who took each of the boys from Lily’s litter.

Though Havanese are hypo-allergenic there are some super sensitive people who cannot even tolerate them and this is the reason Puppy #5 (now Hooch) had to come back to me. He is a very sweet little boy, has had two of his puppy shots and is anxious to settle in with his new family. He is ten weeks old.

The other boy went to an elderly couple who have decided a young puppy is just too much for them. They, too, are crushed. But I could hear the stress in their voices and recommended they let the puppy go. Slightly smaller but equally charming, the puppy’s name is now Benji and his photo is below.

If you are interested in meeting either of these puppies please send me a note.
