Showing dogs was the last thing in the world I thought I’d be doing when I retired from my 35 year stint as a professional florist!! Why? Because I am not one to prance around in front of a lot of people and a judge who is trying to decide which is the best dog in his ring! I got Phoebe, my first Havanese, because I had been breeding (3 litters) English Shepherds and decided puppies were going to be part of my future. Then, for a number of reasons, I decided to change breeds. (Not to worry, though we lost our first English Shepherd in March, 2016 to cancer, I still have her daughter, Meora.)
Yes, I LOVE puppies!
But here I am, 10 years later, in the thick of showing my dogs because I made some friends while showing Havanese and realized there was fun to be had!
So, starting with our most current show dogs and ending with my first show girl, Maxi, I bring you some of our successes!
