Puppies are 5 days old

Maxi’s puppies are 5 days old now and growing by leaps and bounds. Even the little man I have been tube feeding and bottle feeding is gaining nicely. He still can’t seem to latch onto Maxi’s nipples. Not sure why. Doesn’t appear to have any impediments or a cleft palate so we’ll just have to wait and see. One theory is that he was one of the later pups to be conceived and therefore is younger than the others. Good news is that Maxi is very attentive to him. She she must think he’s worth keeping around!

Enjoy!

Willow and Seamus Update

I am happy to report that Willow is now Winifred (aka Winnie) and living with a wonderful family in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I know she will love it there~!

In another part of the country (Virginia) Seamus is settling right in! Here is the note I received today from his “Step Mom.”

Hi Jacqui!

I thought I would take a moment during his nap time to let you know how very much we are in love with our little man!

He’s told us his “house” name. It’s Tutu. We use that when we love on him or play. Training and all else is Seamus.

He’s a very smart guy! He knows the following:

Sit
Stay
Come
Down
Roll over
Sit pretty (work in progress)

He’s also nearly house trained, and if he does go inside it’s on his puppy pad!

We are going for his first sanitary hair cut this week as his fur has grown so fast!!

He LOVES this cool weather we are having! He’s always begging to go out to run, play, and eat leaves.

He ADORES being on his back! Playing, rolling, begging to be tickled, chewing….he flops on to his back! He’s so funny!

He definitely is keeping us on our toes!

His vet appt. went beautifully! He got his booster and worming as well as heart worm.

He has stolen the heart of everyone he meets! Even our neighbors cat! Although he’s not sure WHAT she is! He allows her to give him kisses before running back to us.

I’ve attached a few pictures for you. I’ll keep you updated!

Much love,

Bhal, Amanda, & Seamus.

Here are some of the gazillion photos they sent!

He is such a happy puppy!

I love my families!!!

Some Updates

One of the best things about being a breeder is hearing back from your families with photos and updates on the fur-kids.  I thought I’d share a few with you all.

Lily (no relation to my girl Lily) is one of my pups from Maxi’s New Years Eve litter. She lives in Vermont in the summer and Naples in the winter. What a lucky girl!! Here are some recent photos and a note her family sent.

“Lily is doing wonderfully. She is a big girl now probably 13 and a half pounds. Not at all fat, just big. She loves everyone and likes to play with other small dogs, there is another havanese puppy in the area and we are going to get them together. I give her a bath weekly and have started to scissor cut her rather than going to a groomer since they all just poodle cut them which I don’t want. Hope all of your other puppies are doing well.  Thank you for such a wonderful dog.” Susan

“Hi Jacqui,

Wanted to let you know that Charlie was neutered yesterday.  He’s doing just fine but will need to dial back the rough and tumbled activities he and the cat engage in all day long.  This will be hard for all of us.

Here are a few pictures of Charlie in his summer cut…too hot here for long hair in this Georgia heat.  He is an absolutely wonderful little guy and we adore him.

Love following your posts about the new pups.”

“Thought you would like to see how wonderful you made our life with this adorable one!”Judi  & Jim

“Hi Jacqui,

I’m glad the puppies are here and healthy.  Mi’ja, formerly Dillon, is doing just fine.  We were just at the vet this morning for her rabies shot, and she is 4.5 lbs, so she will likely end up quite small.  Our vet wants to let her go thru one heat before she is spayed, so that may not happen for awhile.  We’ve been through 6 weeks of puppy obedience, and while she understands everything, she is still very easily distracted.  She doesn’t want to let anyone go by without dancing and waving and wagging and virtually shouting “Pet me! Pet me!”  Here’s our latest picture.  I love her ears – they are so expressive.”

Take care,
Ann
