Sage was our first born. He is a dark sable with a white chest and four white paws. Right now he’s a pretty rambunctious boy! Sage weighs 1.75 pounds.
Sweet Sage
Another photo of Fearless Cocoa
This is Cocoa. He is Puppy #2. He weighs 1.48 pounds and is a very dark sable with white toes on his back feet.
I’m calling Puppy #3 Latte.
He’s also a Sable Parti but is cream with the exception of his face and ears. Plus he has a cute little mustache on half his mouth! Latte weighs 1.92 pounds.
Coy Latte
Caramel getting ready to explore.
This is Caramel…Puppy #4. He is solid champagne. He weighs 2.04 pounds and he likes to explore.
This is Ginger. As sweet as they come, she tips the scales at 1.45 pounds so she’s going to be a little girl. Ginger was Puppy #5 and she is solid white.
This is Squash, Puppy #6. Squash is the puppy I had to bottle feed for 4 weeks but as soon as the pups got on solids last week he took off! He’ll be small but not as small as a couple others. He is sable parti with four white stockings and a pretty white blaze. Squash weighs 1.7 pounds.
So if you saw this third photo of Cinnamon you might think she was a pretty reserved girl. But she couldn’t sit still for more than a nano-second. She sniffed my keyboard and then the table and then me. So curious! Cinnamon weighs 1.94 pounds and has white on her two back feet.
Last but not least is Puppy #8, now Thyme. He is white with a tinge of cream on his ears which will probably fade to white. He clearly has the attitude that he is a Prince! Especially in this photo. Maybe it’s because he scared me silly when he was born and couldn’t breath as the result of swallowing amniotic fluid during delivery. After trying all I know to resuscitate him I rushed him to my vet who did his magic. Thyme now weighs 2.15 pounds. Clearly his bumpy first few hours didn’t affect his ability to eat!
Now that we are settled, I’ll have more time for photos. Here’s the second video I took yesterday.
Puppies First Meal…they love it!!
Nap buddies.
We left Michigan a week ago and what a week it’s been! Nursing one puppy who just didn’t seem to get to the nipple fast enough. (We have eight puppies and Lily has seven nipples). Caring for all the other dogs. Etc. Etc.
Then the trip: First was all the packing. Then the prep work on the motor home. Then the packing…for two adults and 15 dogs!
Then the unpacking four days later. Cleaning and dusting off the house. Setting up the porch/dog room with puppy pen, dog crates, etc.
We are exhausted to say the least. But all went well … better than we expected. So no complaints.
I modified my show trolley to transport Lily’s puppies safely to Florida in our motorhome.
