These puppies are beating the curve in terms of weight gain! Fern is a very bountiful and attentive mom. Puppy #1 weighed 1# yesterday. Rest are close behind.

First Meal with Kibble Mush
Maggie’s puppies had their first meal with kibble mush (dry dog food soaked in water and mushed up). They loved it!
Here they are being ever so polite at the table!
That’s Rain off to the right.
Pickles is at noon.
Bubbles is at 9.
Iris is at 7 o’clock.
Violet is at 6 o’clock.
And Sky is at 5 o’clock.
And we also moved to the “Big Puppy Pen” over the weekend so now they can see everyone else in the room. They are so happy with their dangling toys, litter box and freedom to roam around more.
Two Weeks and Counting!
Puppies are 2 weeks old tomorrow! They have all doubled their weights! And….their eyes are open! Hard to catch their eyes on camera because they all have black “masks” but, trust me, they’re open!!
Puppies Have Arrived!
Maggie delivered six healthy puppies starting at 3:30 yesterday morning. Three girls and three boys!
They are nursing well and holding even on their weights which is good for day 2.
It was one of the easiest deliveries I have ever “helped” with. Maggie did everything! Very little pre labor and almost no discernible contractions. All are black and white as you can see in the photo. More to follow!
I want to give a special thanks for Kevin and Sandy McCabe who not only bred Maggie’s mother but also bred Nelson, the sire of this litter.
Fern’s Boy Puppy
This is Fern’s boy puppy. Both of her pups have eyes open now and their pink noses are almost all blackened.
