Update on Boomer

For those who may not remember, Boomer was one of the two puppies I had to bottle feed because he was so small. Not so anymore!!! Here is a report and photos from his new family.

Hi Jacqui!
I wanted to give you a little update on Jackson (aka Boomer)! He is doing GREAT!  We can’t believe we got so lucky to have such a good little puppy!
He is growing so much and at his last Vet visit weighed in at about 4.5 lbs!  He has completely adjusted to the routine at our house and has even learned a few little tricks!
His latest is ringing the bell at the back door everytime he needs to take a potty break outside (Yea! No more accidents in the house!) Right off the bat we were able to teach him to fetch (his favorite game to play) and last week he learned to “sit” and “shake” on command!  He can follow with the leash and is learning to stay in the yard… Such a smart boy!
Our favorite time with him is after Logan goes to bed and he gets some quiet couch time with Joel and I and lot’s of extra snuggles….
He’s so sweet and loves to play… doesn’t chew on much (other than his toys) and is definitely my little shadow during the day when it’s just him and I. Everyone who meets him is smitten and I’ve passed out your website/blog to a few people like us who may be looking for a puppy in the future!
We are so happy with him!
Hope everything is going well,
Enjoy the pictures!

Havanese Puppy Update: Blaze

Blaze was our littlest puppy of all sixteen but don’t tell him that because he won’t believe you. Big things do come in small packages. He has a heart as big as a forest and a personality to match.

He is now living just around the corner from me with a family of two adults and their three children. I am so glad we found such a good home for this little trooper…and that I will (hopefully) see him from time to time.

Here’s what his family has to say about Blaze, now renamed Flash for the current super hero!

Hi Jacqui
Just wanted to let you know that we are having a blast with our Flash! He has a spectacular (and very feisty) personality and is so loving and affectionate. He already knows to ring the bells to get outside and he’s doing very well with his potty training. We just love him!! Thank you is much for giving him such a great start!! He is very happy and very very loved!!

PS I will send a few more photos for you!!

And I forgot to tell you that he weighed 3.2 pounds at the vet on 9-7. He’s really growing!

Note: If you are new to my blog you may not know that this little guy weighed 2.8 ounces when he was born! I tube fed then bottle fed him for three weeks. Now he’s making up his slow start which really warms my heart. Can’t wait to hear how big he is in a year.

Havanese Puppy Update: Dew

Dew left for her forever home on September 10. She had a very long trip as her (formerly Michigan) family was driving to their home in Jupiter Florida! As you will read below, she fared quite well on the journey. Here’s what her family says about Dew along with some of their photos.

HI!

We returned to Jupiter on Friday evening about 8.  She did great!  The puppy pads worked great in the hotel and car.  We have named her “Maizie” – Bob attended the University of Michigan and we thought since she was Michigan it would fit.  She knows her name as you can imagine.  She’s very smart and you were right about wanting to get her way.  I have attached a few pictures.  Bob is really involved in the training.  Lots of fun!

Thanks again!

Beth . . . and Bob

Her space in Bob’s office.  We move the bed to our room at night.  She’s sleeping until 5:30.  We have a bell on the front door and will begin that training soon.

Walking with Bob on our road trip home.  She loves to walk.  I have figured out the harness and we walk down the street in the morning.

She rode in the carrier most of the way and slept in it at the hotel.

In the hotel.

I’ll send more as she grows.

Update on Thunder, now Parker

Sept. 10, 2012

Hi Jacqui,
I just wanted to let you know we made it home without incident. He let me know every time he needed to potty or eat, so we had no accidents in the car. 🙂  He has completely stolen my heart!! Tommy won’t admit it, but he is falling hard for him also! We are about 95% sure his name is going to be Oliver.
(My note: his name actually became Parker!) He is adjusting quite well. He has been eating and drinking just fine, and only woke up twice through the night. Marley is spending a couple days at the sitters so Oliver can get use to his surroundings before the big introduction. I’ll let you know how things go. I will send pictures soon. Can I send them to your phone or do you prefer e-mail? Take care, and again, thank you so much for everything.

Sept. 17, 2012

Hi Jacqui,
We picked Marley up yesterday from the sitters and the initial meeting went well. We are settling in to somewhat of a routine. We had a couple moments where Marley needed a little space at first, but he’s been loosening up as time goes on. He started to run and play with Parker at one point last night, but then decided he wasn’t quite ready and jumped up on the couch to get away. Then this morning, Marley has been picking up a toy, then brings it in the vicinity of Parker and drops it, to let him play with it. He doesn’t engage with Parker when he does this, but it’s clear he’s letting him have the toy. Also, today he started to let Parker lick his face but then backed off again…slow but sure. I will keep you posted on the progress, I’m sure it’s only a matter of time and they will be best buddies! Take care, Teresa

Three Puppies Left!

You can see my Personality Profiles of all these puppies at my website, https://www.carneyshaven.com  Look under the “Puppy Blog Archives.”
These two photos are of Rain, a sweet and precocious little girl that loves to give kisses!

These two photos are of Hancock who loves people and his toys. I’d love to place him in a show home. He has a fabulous coat, nice topline, great structure and a handsome face.

And this is Franklin. He is what is known as a ‘Satin-coated Havanese.’ This means he has the recessive genes that give him a shorter and more satiny coat. He will not need much in the way of grooming as his coat will remain the same length. He will also shed slightly and may not be the best candidate for persons with allergies. He is, however a darling little guy who loves to snuggle and romp.
