Tango/Harley Pups Are On The Move!

As you can see, Tango and her pups have moved to larger quarters. The pups eyes are open now and so I want them to be able to see their world! I have added some play toys too and will be introducing them to new smells and textures in the following days. This builds their curiosity and confidence!

Meri’s Pups are 2 Weeks Old!

Our all black girl Onyx. Born third, she was the one who took her sweet time arriving and sent me into a near panic attack.

Onyx has just a smidge of white on her front paws.

Another view of Onyx

This is our cream boy. Last to arrive, he has a faint white diamond shape on his forehead. I’m calling him Sandy.

Sweet Sandy with a better view of his forehead.

Sandy.

Cole likes to sleep on his back. Here you can see his coloring!

This is our black boy, Cole (think Coal). He was the first to arrive, offered Meri no resistance and outweighed the others by a lot! Now they are catching up.

Cole’s two back feet are half white!

Our sable boy, Sable (what else!). He was the second to arrive, one hour to the second after his big brother!

Sable has a white goatee and white patch on his chest. Eyes almost open!

And Sable has one back foot that is half white!

And this is little Pearl. She was fourth in the lineup and a bit smaller in size which gave her a disadvantage at the milk bar at first. But the girl has figured out how to wriggle her way to the best nipples!

Pearl’s eyes almost open!

Tango Puppies Photo Party!

This is Puppy #1. Firstborn. A girl. Smallest but catching up quick! She had the lavendar collar.

Our other sable parti is also a girl. Her collar was chartreuse. Love her markings!

Chili photo #2

This little boy was born 3rd in the lineup. He is on the small side but don’t let that worry you. He is a pistol. He wore a red collar and so I think the name Chili fits him!

Blue photo #2

This is our Blue collar boy. He was born last at a whopping 209 grams. Lavendar, by contrast was 127 grams! Sometimes I have to cuddle him while the others nurse so they can get their fair share! I am just going to call him Blue. (Think Babe the Blue Ox!)

This is our orange collar boy. He was born 5th. I think I will call him Tangelo.

I love the markings on Tangelo’s face!

Last but not least we have the yellow collar boy. Yes, all the black and white pups are boys! I am going to call him Mellow!

Mellow’s photo #2

Unlike the others, I had a hard time getting Mellow to wake up for his photo shoot. What a face!

I think this little guy could sleep all day! Actually they all sleep all day. That’s the puppy prerogative!

Welcoming Meri’s Pups to the World!

On December 18 Meri whelped 5 beautiful puppies! 3 boys and 2 girls. It was a long day for Meri. The first two pups arrived at 2 and 3 pm with little fanfare. But our little black boy puppy put my nerves to the test! After 2 hours with a little contracting but no puppy, I took Meri to our local 24 hour emergency vet. Our worry was that this boy was stuck. Turns out he was just stubborn. Finally, at 6:30 after a dose of oxytocin, he was born…healthy and hungry! By 8:00 pm a black girl and the white boy had arrived!

Here is Phantom…the proud papa!

Sire of this litter is our boy Phantom. Both dogs have very sweet dispositions. Phantom would play fetch with me all day long if given the opportunity!
