Lily whelped 8 beautiful puppies October 11. Six boys and two girls.
I’m sorry for the delayed posting but I had a hip replacement September 29 so we have been very busy!!!
Anyway, mom and puppies are doing well. You can see more about the parents on my “New Litters” page.

The whole gang at 10 days.
We are looking for the perfect home for this little guy. He has lots of energy but will settle down and cuddle too. He weighs about 6 pounds…will likely be about 9 pounds as an adult.
This is Marlis pup born April 19. It wasn’t until he was about 8 weeks old that we began to notice something different about him. He has a short coat! We now call him Junot and his coat is the result of a recessive genes carried by each of his parents. Hence the term short-coated Havanese. As you can see, he has a very sweet face and gorgeous Havanese almond eyes! He is by far the most friendly pup I’ve raised. Loves to be petted, to play and to be on my lap. Bonus…he is incredibly intelligent.
He’s King of the Castle! A favorite game!
Because of his coat there is a chance is Junot is not as hypo-allergenic as most Havanese. On the up side…he doesn’t need to be brushed three times a week!

Maxi whelped three beautiful girls! Labor went well. First puppy arrived at 2:15 pm. Second took her sweet time and arrived at 5:00. Last puppy came at 6:10. All are nursing well and have good weights: 5.0 to 6.7 ounces. More photos to follow.

Potter and Maxi both have sweet, loving and cuddly personalities. Potter is a total shadow and Maxi loves to sleep on my shoulder. Puppies should have fantastic dispositions.

Puppies are 5 weeks old now and able to enjoy the wonderful weather in Southwest Florida. It took a few minutes to get accustomed to this new environment but pretty soon they were enjoying their picnic and the fresh Florida air!
Puppies are growing by leaps and bounds. So much has happened over the last few days I don’t know where to begin.
We removed the rails in the whelping boxes because the puppies were big enough that mom would khow if she happened to sit on one of them….and, there is a lot more room without the rails.
Then, we introduced the litter boxes. Because the litter boxes take up so much room, we had to move to a bigger apartment! After just a few days, puppies are doing great going potty in the litter boxes.
Then we introduced the back yard! A bit scary at first. Funny sensations on our toes. Breezy air in our ears. Lots of nature sounds. Oh my! But, after 20 minutes or so, all these dangers melted away and they just played and played.
Playing in our whelping box for the last time. Note the rails have been removed now. Puppies are large enough that they don’t have to worry about being squished by mom!
And, playing….playing…playing.
Here we are in our larger pen! There are the litter boxes. There’s even poo in one!! And please note that LIly’s pups and Maxi’s pups are now together as one big, happy family!!
Sunshine, fresh air and grass…..oh my! Puppies love exploring and, after just a few minutes, they LOVED exploring their outdoor pen.
Here is their outdoor playground in our back yard. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can play outside every day!
