Welcoming Meri’s Pups to the World!

On December 18 Meri whelped 5 beautiful puppies! 3 boys and 2 girls. It was a long day for Meri. The first two pups arrived at 2 and 3 pm with little fanfare. But our little black boy puppy put my nerves to the test! After 2 hours with a little contracting but no puppy, I took Meri to our local 24 hour emergency vet. Our worry was that this boy was stuck. Turns out he was just stubborn. Finally, at 6:30 after a dose of oxytocin, he was born…healthy and hungry! By 8:00 pm a black girl and the white boy had arrived!

Here is Phantom…the proud papa!

Sire of this litter is our boy Phantom. Both dogs have very sweet dispositions. Phantom would play fetch with me all day long if given the opportunity!

Yes It’s Been A While

Handsome Harley loved and shown by my friend Marcy Skirvin.

Tango with my wonderful handler Christy Collins.

Tango being goofy! It has been a while since we have had puppies. And, when it rains, it pours!!

In 10 days, Tango and Harley are due (December 15). Next Tuesday Tango will have an xray to determine how many pups she is carrying. She is getting quite plump!!

This is Meri. Our pretty girl is a Grand Champion. She turned 2 last August and this will be her first litter. That’s me on lead.

Our “Fun at the Beach” Litter

This is Shades. He is a dark sable with some cream on his chest. A very mellow fellow!

This is Diver. He is black with a bit of white on his two front paws, more white on the back ones and a white goatee which you can barely see.

Fern’s puppies are growing like crazy! Their eyes are almost open. And they are moving around, making sweet puppy growls and tussling with each other. Here are their photos with their names…that my grandson suggested!

Shades again.

Here you can see one of Diver’s white back paws.

This is Sandy. He is lighter than it shows in the photo. He has white on his front paws and a white chest.

Sandy

Sweet Sandy.

And this is Flip-Flop. The only girl and the biggest of the bunch though that is likely to change. You can see her pink nose is beginning to darken and her eyes are almost open.

Meet The Incredibles!

It has been a productive week at Carneys Havanese Haven. Puppies are growing like crazy and, better yet, their eyes are beginning to open! And even better than that….they have names!!

Here are their 2-week birthday photos with names and weights!

This is Helen…AKA Elastigirl! She weighs 1#.06 ounces. Her eyes are still closed. She was the second puppy born and, of course, like Helen she is very special as the only girl in the family.

This is Bob, AKA Mr. Incredible. At this point he is the biggest puppy. Actually, he’s been the biggest puppy since day 1. He was born first and he weighs 1# 8.2 ounces!

This is Lucius, AKA Frozone! His eyes are wide open and he is a very active puppy! He weighs 1# .9 ounces. He came third!

This is Dash. His eyes were the first to open but he isn’t the biggest by any stretch. He weighs 1# 3.6. He is the darkest of the bunch.

And this is JackJack. Love his coloring! His nose is the first to start turning black and, as you can see…he can see!! Jack Jack weighs 1# 5.2 ounces. He was the last to be born. In fact, he took his sweet time arriving…five hours after Bob was born!
