The Rewards of Breeding

Breeding dogs is hard work. A LOT of hard work!! It is a full time job…not a hobby.

But the rewards far outweigh the burdens.

One of the rewards is the friendships I have with my puppy owners. Daily my inbox is full of notes, photos and updates on what they are doing.

This week my “Summer Weather” litter enjoyed their 3rd birthday. They are out Luna and of  These are some photos their families sent me to celebrate!

This is Rainbow. She lives in Washington DC and just got a birthday groom! I love her scarf!

This family has three of my Havanese! Birthday girl, Guillia, is in the front. At right is Valentina and at left is Rosie. Their owner said they are frowning because she just arrived to pick them up from the groomer.

This is Wrigley! In the background is his roommate, the pretty cat. I think what Tasha is thinking here is, “You may be higher than me but I have the couch!”

We Have Puppies!! Two need homes

Sunshine whelped 3 beautiful puppies on February 20. They will be 8 weeks old tomorrow. Time flies when you have puppies! Anyway, we are looking for homes for the two boys, Porsche and Beemer. Puppies are fat and healthy and playing with each other, their mom and their roomates!

This is Beemer. He is a gold sable parti and has amazing eyes. He is also a love bug!

This is little Mercedes. She is currently reserved for the show circuit…assuming she gets to standard.

This is Porche. He loves to sit on my lap. he is a dark sable parti.

Meet Little Willow!

Breeder’s Note: Willow has found the perfect home! She is living with a single career woman whose children are grown…and her 80 something father in Western Michigan. I love this because I will be able to come visit from time to time!

Willow is looking for a forever home. She is just over 1 year old and has been a show girl for a few months but, honestly, she’d rather be a pet. She is just too darn happy!

One judge, a few months back commented that she did get all four feet on the ground at one point! But most of the time it looks like she’s flying! And she never, ever stops wagging her tail! Problem with that is, the judge can’t see how pretty she is because her tail is in constant motion!

As you can see from the photos, she is mostly black with pretty white markings around her face. She also has white paws and white on the tip of her tail. She has a bubbly personality, loves children and other dogs.

Willow as a puppy with my daughter.

Willow is on the smaller side. She is just over 8 1/2″ at the shoulders and weighs about 10#.

If you would like to learn more about Willow, please send me an email at j7carney@gmail.com. Or to her co-owner, Kathy Ambler at havayork@yahoo.com.

Some Closeups!

This is Pumpkin. She is a red sable parti. Middle of the pack in size.

Up until now, with the exception of my first set of photos, I have taken videos.

Why?

Because getting these little ones to stay still is near impossible.

It took 60+ shots to get these 12.

Fun, but frustrating. Life could be worse, right?

Love this litter.

This is Autumn. She has held her spot as the smallest pup in the litter.

Autumn, paws up!

This is Boo. Love her pirate patch!

Boo playing with the rattle toy.

Nutmeg is the color of, well, nutmeg! A little red but mostly sable and black with white markings.

Nutmeg looking me right in the eye, which she does often!! Love that.

Pumpkin asking to be picked up!

This is Shadow, one of our boys. Loves his rattle toy!

Shadow again. Both boys are mid sized. Shadow is slightly bigger.

This is Spooky, our other boy. Smallest of the two but still bigger than Autumn.

Spooky and the toy!
