Meet Sienna!

Sunshine won’t you come play with me?

Sienna at about 7 weeks.

Sienna’s win in the 4-6 month puppy class. No points…just practice.

Sienna is the puppy I kept from my October 2022 litter. She is still all puppy! She loves to play with her housemates and her toys.

Sienna is almost a year old and still working out the show dog program.

We are attending many classes and our favorite teacher, Linda, is easing Sienna into a show career. For quite some time Sienna was not buying it! She just wanted to play with her buddies at home. Dog shows with lots of racket and bigger dogs gave her the willies!

But guess what? Three weeks ago I entered Sienna in some shows in Windsor, Ontario. She won twice and now is 1/3 of the way to her Canadian championship!!

Then, last weekend Sienna took 2nd place in a group of 4 dogs right here in Monroe Michigan. I am ecstatic! More importantly she was loving it! She ran, she jumped, she turned circles! I was so happy for her….the judge not so much or she would have placed 1st. That’s ok.

Sienna at 11 months and ready for a grown-up show!

What good is any endeavor if you can’t enjoy the journey?

Meet Little Willow!

Breeder’s Note: Willow has found the perfect home! She is living with a single career woman whose children are grown…and her 80 something father in Western Michigan. I love this because I will be able to come visit from time to time!

Willow is looking for a forever home. She is just over 1 year old and has been a show girl for a few months but, honestly, she’d rather be a pet. She is just too darn happy!

One judge, a few months back commented that she did get all four feet on the ground at one point! But most of the time it looks like she’s flying! And she never, ever stops wagging her tail! Problem with that is, the judge can’t see how pretty she is because her tail is in constant motion!

As you can see from the photos, she is mostly black with pretty white markings around her face. She also has white paws and white on the tip of her tail. She has a bubbly personality, loves children and other dogs.

Willow is on the smaller side. She is just over 8 1/2″ at the shoulders and weighs about 10#.

Fozzie Needs An Active Family!

Breeder’s Note: I am a woman….hence I am entitled to change my mind!! (LOL) For now, Fozzie is going to stay with us!! I love him to pieces and so asked myself why am I doing this? No good reason that I can hang my hat on …. so he is still here!!

Fozzie has been the stud dog (literally) at Carney’s Haven for two years. He has produced two wonderful litters. But, in fairness to Fozzie, I have decided to find a family for him that can match his energy levels, his playfulness and his loving personality!

In addition, I need to cut back a bit on my breeding program as I am not getting any younger! So I will keep fewer dogs and continue to breed, but just one or two litters a year.

Fozzie is an AKC Grand Champion. He achieved all his points before he was a year old!!

But, more importantly, he is a sound, structurally perfect and healthy specimen of the Havanese breed. He has passed all the required health testing for Havanese and more. He weighs about 13 pounds. His color is chocolate parti which means he is brown and white. He has beautiful green/brown eyes and a cute white “beard”.

Like I said earlier, he would do best in an active household. Either one with children or one with active adults. He loves to run, take long walks and chase his toys. He would be a terrific hiking partner, agility candidate or performance dog. My first choice would be a family willing to keep him intact so I could breed him one or two more times. But if that is not an option I will have him neutered.

Fozzie is trained to potty outdoors and to use a pee pad indoors.

He has taken several obedience classes because we had thoughts about training him to compete as a performance dog. He would be terrific at this and was the star pupil at all his classes! I just don’t have the time to devote right now.

Fozzie as the cutest puppy ever!

Fozzie’s first of many, many ribbons!

Luna Has Found Her Forever Home

It hurts to write this…it always hurts when the time comes to place my adults in their forever home. But when they are finished showing in the ring and finished having puppies, they kind of get put on the back burner, attention wise, at a dog breeder’s. And they deserve so much more! Which is why I look for a wonderful home that can be theirs forever.

Luna was born the night of the Super Blood Wolf Moon, January 21, 2019. Hence her name!

Her show career was stellar…achieving her AKC Championship in record time! She has been a great mom to several litters, has nurtured her pups in the gentlest way possible.

Luna is also a big-time love bug. She is sweet, low key and loving. She gets along well with every dog she meets! But humans are her favorite. Especially children.

Luna will be spayed, is microchipped, is current on all her vaccines and has passed all the health tests recommended for the Havanese breed.

Another New Experience! The Crate!

I am a firm believer in crate training for your puppies. Not to live in 24/7, but to be comfortable in so that vet visits and groomer visits and overnights at a kennel are less stressful.

So at 7 weeks, I leave an open crate in their pen so they can sleep in it, explore it and play with their toys in it.
